Position Overview

As a Billing Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing the company’s invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely revenue recognition. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong financial acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Location & Work Arrangement

• Hybrid – Based in Columbia, MD
• Direct hire opportunity
• $65,000 - $80,000/year

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process complex invoices in alignment with client contracts.
• Ensure billing accuracy and compliance with company policies and client agreements.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, collaborating with clients as needed.
• Partner with finance teams to ensure revenue recognition aligns with GAAP standards.
• Monitor revenue schedules and adjust as necessary based on project changes.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding invoices, disputes, and payments.
• Analyze billing reports to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
• Support system upgrades and process enhancements to improve billing efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with government regulations and company policies.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior billing team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of billing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong understanding of billing principles, revenue recognition, and GAAP.
• Proficiency in billing software (Costpoint).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Prior experience in technology or security industries is a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
