Senior Manager of Accounting opening for a $150M and rapidly growing Technology/Artificial Intelligence firm in Washington DC area! (Position is REMOTE, but must be local to the area-occasional meetings/training) This company is seeking someone to join their US financial accounting team serving an important function in ensuring their global affiliates transact and their financial records are kept compliant with US GAAP. Successful candidate is self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, and knowledgeable regarding accounting best practices under US GAAP. Our client seeks someone with a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience working in a complex, and a multinational environment.

- This position reports into the Chief Accounting Officer who we know very well-great leader/cares about staff and their growth
- This position is responsible for the US GAAP accounting function, general ledger, and liaising with the Europe team to consolidate the international entities.
- This will manage the full financial accounting team, with three direct reports (Managers) and four skip level reports (Staff) – They will be part of the hiring process for these positions. Currently have consultants in place and will be an orderly transition when they bring on direct hires.
- They do not need to have a heavy technical accounting or compliance background as those functions are handled separately.
- Prefer someone who has worked with international teams.
- Exciting projects to work on which are coveted by most companies -creating SOPS, automating reconciliations, overhauling some finance processes etc..
- Must be CPA and have NetSuite. Pedigree, Public Corporate mix a plus

Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting
Responsibilities
The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting will oversee the corporate accounting functions of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Financial Accounting
- Ensure accounting records are kept in accordance with US GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statement reporting packages in compliance with U.S. GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately, including the review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on accounting developments and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Create closing schedules and procedures, drive accountability to deadlines, and resolve issues that impact the timeliness and/or reliability of financial results.
- Liaise with auditors and support external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
Projects and People Managerment
- Lead and manage the financial accounting team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, providing insights and data to support decision-making.
- Collaborate on NetSuite design and testing of process improvements, automation, and enhancements.
- Support ad hoc analysis as required by the Global teams, including Senior Management, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Legal and HR, to drive the company’s financial objectives.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- US Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Big 4 (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or PWC) experience strongly preferred. Public accounting experience required
- 5+ years of post-public experience with 2-5 years in a managerial or leadership role
- NetSuite ERP experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Software industry experience, preferably both development and SAAS, and multinational company experience
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
