Position Title:
Director of Finance & Business Operations
Position Summary:
Provides financial planning and analysis support to the Managing Director of Business Operations, the broader finance team, and customers throughout the organization.  Provides day-to-day management of contracts and budgets as they relate to business/financial matters. 
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Managing Director in the creation, tracking, monitoring, and partnering (to business owners) of all aspects of the budget
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, trends, and analytics
  • Maintain working relationships with departmental managers and administrative staff in the preparation and review of financial reports, to provide information and to resolve issues including variances from approved budget
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating internal financial/cost controls
  • Responsible for reviewing all contracts and approving standard contracts.  Work with departments as necessary when submitted contracts are exceeding or not budgeted to ensure that funding is available
  • Ensure invoices and payments are consistent with existing contracts and purchase orders
  • Prepares financial reports (e.g. monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Support the accounting monthly and annual close
  • Responsible for assisting with the annual audit
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by management
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines, advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of hands-on budgeting, forecasting, and contracts related work experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understand issues related to budgeting, forecasting, and contracts
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and budgeting tools
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Willingness to learn innovative and creative approaches to using business applications
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • High-energy with an ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
