Cordia is actively seeking Assistant Controllers to support our clients in the DMV area. This is a unique opportunity to join a team with a great company culture and excellent professional support.
Assistant Controller Responsibilities:
  • Manage all month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, allocations, variance analyses, integrity validations, etc. for consolidated and subsidiary reporting purposes
  • Inter-company accounting and consolidations within a complex organizational structure
  • Income taxes
  • Debt, Derivatives, Leases
  • Oversee accounting for foreign branch offices and subsidiaries, including cross-border transfer pricing issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial records in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting principles (predominantly GAAP, some IFRS)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley compliant internal controls; maintain a system of internal controls over accounting transactions
  • Maintain the chart of accounts 
  • Coordinate and oversee quarterly and annual audit processes, serving as primary point of contract with auditors
  • Manage growing team of accountants in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment
  • Assist with domestic and foreign tax compliance matters
Assistant Controller Requirements:
  • CPA
  • 8+ years' training within public accounting and corporate
  • Strong Microsoft Excel - pivot tables and advanced data analysis formulas
  • GAAP expertise, including preparation of audited GAAP financial statements
  • Inter-company accounting, IFRS and/or consolidations experience
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing a high-performing team in a dynamic environment
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential material
  • Experience in accounting for income taxes
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or SAP
