Our client is a international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, and research scientists focused on clinical chemistry and related disciplines is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team. This position reports to an awesome Senior Manager and is expected to be in office only on Tuesdays. Salary for this role is $60k with opportunities for OT. Employees  must be vaccinated and have at least 1 booster.


Accounts Payable
  • Processes approved invoices in cloud-based payables system per established procedures, paying within 30 days unless otherwise stated
  • Ensures receipts for monthly corporate credit card statements are submitted and processed in cloud-based expense system
  • Reconciles the prepaid and accounts payable balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Prepares year-end audit schedules as assigned
  • Maintains and prepares Form 1099’s in a timely manner
  • Researches and resolves staff questions and concerns about accounts payable issues
  • Provides training to new employees on cloud-based payables and expense systems
Accounts Receivable and Cash Receipts
  • Creates miscellaneous invoices and posts applicable cash receipts
  • Forwards daily cash receipts to AACC's exhibit management company
  • Records payments received to applicable invoices in cloud-based accounting system
  • Processes batches for the daily lockbox, ACH, and wire receipts in the association management system
  • Completes the daily capture and reconciliation of credit card receipts and refunds
  • Researches cash receipts with unclear application instructions
General Ledger
  • Assists in month-end closing, journal entries, and allocations
  • Completes balance sheet account reconciliations and other subsidiary ledgers as assigned
  • Maintains and reconciles the fixed asset subsidiary ledger
  • Travels to the AACC Annual Meeting to provide accounting-related services
  • Assists with other accounting functions and related special projects as requires
