Description: Our Cybersecurity client is looking for a Staff Accountant to join the Finance and Accounting team. The Staff Accountant will work directly with Senior Accountants and Controller with general accounting/finance responsibilities and provide top-level support to fellow coworkers.
As a member of the team, the Staff Accountant will assist with the overall financial accounting and payroll operations. This role will be a pivotal part in the maintenance, management, and direction of the employee payroll function to include payroll processing, and payroll tax compliance. The Staff Accountant will also have responsibilities performing month-end close duties, which include certain GL reconciliations and assistance with various projects. Serve as the operations point-of-contact for payroll system, payment process, and report preparation;
Knowledge and experience with tax laws, wage and hour laws, state and local registration and filing requirements;
Maintain and manage the year-end payroll process resulting in the issuance of employee annual W-2’s;
Coordination of payroll functions with Human Resources department members;
Prepare the reconciliation and analysis of related balance sheet accounts and ledgers;
Issue customer invoices and manage the collection effort on receivable balances;
Assist with month-end close process and general ledger reconciliations;
Assist with the annual financial and payroll related audits;
Other projects and duties as assigned.
A minimum of three years accounting experience in technology related industry; to include multi-state payroll and tax processing;
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations and payroll best practices;
Strong interpersonal, communication and follow-up skills required;
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education / Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or relevant field; OR equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
