They are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the financial operations on a flexible hybrid work environment!

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

The candidate must be detail-oriented, a strong leader and a team player, and possess strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and keen business acumen. 

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including budgeting, cash management, financial reporting, Form 990 preparation, administration of benefits plans, review and approval of payroll, employee expenses, vendor invoices, journal entries and balance-sheet reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain a DCAA-compliant accounting system to ensure appropriate cost collection and revenue recognition for fixed-price and cost-reimbursement contracts
  • Maintain an integrated insurance portfolio to effectively manage risk
  • Have a clear understanding of the financial terms of the organization’s contracts and agreements with the Government and with its consortia members
  • Prepare for and manage applicable financial audits
  • Maintain effective relationships relative to financial operations, including the Internal Revenue Service, Defense Finance Accounting Service, Defense Contract Audit Agency, outside auditors, and tax consultants
  • Develop cost and pricing proposals in response to Federal Government solicitations
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements related to the finance and accounting operations
  • Supervise accounting staff
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in a Department of Defense contracting environment
  • Experience with leading DCAA incurred-cost compliance functions
  • Ability to develop successful cost proposals in response to Federal Government contract solicitations
  • Nonprofit financial management and accounting knowledge and/or experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication and management skills
