Growing, profitable VC firm – with multiple US locations – is looking for a Senior Valuations Analyst.  The Senior Analyst is responsible for financial analysis and forecasting of portfolio company returns as well as coordination with firm Operations, Fund Finance, and Investment teams. The Analyst/Senior Analyst will be integrated into the Fund Finance team to forecast and identify opportunities given portfolio company projected returns, fund return structures, and upcoming deals in order to add value to the firm. The Analyst/Senior Analyst is a member of a high performing team and a successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to think critically, take initiative and identify challenges and opportunities.

Role Scope:
  • Manage and maintain estimates of portfolio company returns by share class, including IRR, CoC, etc.
  • Manage and maintain forecast of fund performance models
  • Prepare and update materials for portfolio company valuation reports
  • Calculating standard industry measures for performance reporting for the fund investments
  • Coordination with auditors
  • Assist in preparing and presenting results of our analysis in a clear and concise manner
  • Prepare scenario analyses and provide recommendations for portfolio company financing options given firm position in capitalization table.
Desired Skills & Credentials:
  • BS in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience at a venture capital/private equity firm, Big-4 accounting firm working on private company valuations utilizing public market data with complex capitalization tables
  • Interest and desire to expand knowledge on complex capitalization tables, including scenario and exit analysis to optimize outcomes
  • Proactive and efficient – able to anticipate the next step without having to be directed  
  • Accommodating – willing to step in and help when needed  
  • Must be diplomatic and possess a positive attitude  
  • Must be able work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and prioritize several projects and details  
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional follow-through skills  
  • Must take ownership of the position and develop firm tax function

Compensation & Culture:
  • $100,000 - $120,000 base salary
  • 25-30% bonus
