Senior Accountant ($90K-$100K+bonus)

Our client is a technology enabled Financial Service company that is expanding operationally. While they are headquartered in DC and have satellite offices around the US, this role and the team are 100% REMOTE.

The company is searching for a direct-hire Senior Accountant due to growth/promotion within the team. The company was founded by a prominent investment professional and is keenly focused on providing strategic funding for small to medium-sized businesses in various industries across the country. The ideal candidate has Big-4, public accounting training with technical accounting knowledge and on path to CPA. Target salary $90-100k + bonus, depending on experience.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Assist with management of accounting team and development of staff
  • Review and close the books monthly (several different entities, including Funds and Asset Manager) under strict reporting deadlines
  • Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for Funds and operating companies
  • Review flux analyses over monthly financial statements for Funds and operating companies to interpret investment performance and periodic trends
  • Apply GAAP interpretation to investor agreements and amendments
  • Prepare monthly waterfall and distribution calculations in accordance with Fund investment agreements
  • Provide close information to fund administrator and act as point of contact during their closing process
  • Allocate investment performance to various Series’ of investors and track individual investor NAVs over time
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of key financially significant IT systems
  • Review and approve cash movements (collections, distributions, and purchases)
  • Point person for annual Fund GAAP audit
  • Partner with third party for quarterly fund valuations
  • Partner with C-Suite and drive strategic initiatives including operational/functional improvements, system improvements, and bolstering the financial processes and controls


  • BS in Accounting, required and CPA preferred
  • 2-3 years of public accounting experience OR 3-4 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Excellent understanding of technical accounting matters (white papers, GAAP interpretation, etc.)
  • Ability to manage/manipulate large data sets
  • Independently driven with good team player mentality
