Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Associate to join our team. As an Accounting Associate, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including handling daily cash receipts, preparing journal entries, conducting bank reconciliations, and assisting with financial audits. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and handle daily cash receipts report
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and other accounting analysis with required support
Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly
Assist with annual financial audit workpapers
Support the annual FAR audit process
Assist with month-end close activities
Prepare reconciliations for over/under billing, accounts receivable aging, and fixed assets
Complete credit card fee allocation
Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports and perform financial analysis as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance (or equivalent)
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of accounting or operations experience
Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance principles, including familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong analytical and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
Ability to work as part of a team and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with Oracle ERP accounting systems or equivalent (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft programs, particularly Excel
