Cordia Resources is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate legal assistance, although candidates with law firm experience will also be considered. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to our legal department, primarily focusing on litigation support, garnishments, investigations, and contract interpretation.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and prepare materials for outside counsel in litigation cases.
Assist in managing garnishment processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and timely responses.
Conduct investigations, gather relevant data, and prepare comprehensive reports for review by attorneys.
Read and interpret contracts, identifying key provisions and potential risks.
Maintain organized files, databases, and document management systems.
Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
Draft correspondence, memos, and legal documents under attorney supervision.
Provide general administrative support to the legal department, as needed.
Requirements:
2-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a corporate legal setting. Law firm experience will also be considered.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Demonstrated experience in litigation support, including information gathering and coordination with outside counsel.
Knowledge of garnishment procedures and ability to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting contracts, identifying key provisions, and assessing potential risks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in using legal research tools and document management systems.
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
