Cordia Resources is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate legal assistance, although candidates with law firm experience will also be considered. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to our legal department, primarily focusing on litigation support, garnishments, investigations, and contract interpretation.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and prepare materials for outside counsel in litigation cases.
  • Assist in managing garnishment processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and timely responses.
  • Conduct investigations, gather relevant data, and prepare comprehensive reports for review by attorneys.
  • Read and interpret contracts, identifying key provisions and potential risks.
  • Maintain organized files, databases, and document management systems.
  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
  • Draft correspondence, memos, and legal documents under attorney supervision.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal department, as needed.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a corporate legal setting. Law firm experience will also be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in litigation support, including information gathering and coordination with outside counsel.
  • Knowledge of garnishment procedures and ability to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting contracts, identifying key provisions, and assessing potential risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in using legal research tools and document management systems.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Strong tenure and proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
