Cordia Resources is seeking a Property Accountant for a leading real estate development and management company with a strong reputation for excellence.  The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting related to our property portfolio. This includes preparing financial statements, conducting budget analysis, managing cash flows, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate has a strong background in real estate accounting, is highly organized, and possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for the assigned properties
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly financial analysis, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes for the assigned properties
  • Reconcile bank statements and perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of property-related transactions, including lease agreements, rent rolls, and property taxes
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for the properties
  • Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Conduct periodic audits of property-related transactions and identify any discrepancies or issues
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and accounting standards, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and real estate accounting practices
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) is a plus
