As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for supporting balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close activities, journal entries, and variance analysis. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective utilization of resources.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Assist in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and financial statements.
Perform detailed variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary financial information and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
Provide support for annual audits and other financial examinations.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Mentor and support junior accounting staff as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the non-profit sector.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, and variance analysis.
Proficiency in using accounting software, with Lawson experience being a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
