Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a $12M organization who is seeking an Interim Controller with a strong background using Great Plains to join their team on a 3+ month contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare timely monthly financials, financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis to provide strategic recommendations.
• Assist with long-term budgetary planning and cost management.  Budget vs. Actuals; profit & loss, variance reports and other statements.
• Lead the accounting group in month-end closing process, regulatory compliance and accounting standards and procedures.
• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
• Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions.
• Develop finance staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
• Must have advanced accounting skills with ability to take the lead and assist junior staff with all aspects of departmental roles; from GL entries, bank reconciliation, allocating, reconciling entries, AR, AP and resolving discrepancies.   
• Responsible for the recording, analysis, and reporting of endowments.
• Ensure preparation and distribution of all financial reporting materials and metrics for the volunteer treasurer, volunteer board of directors, and staff.
