We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy HR Specialist to join our client's team in a brand-new role designed to support our HR, administrative, and payroll functions. This position offers significant visibility and the opportunity to grow and develop a career in HR or finance. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Administration and will play a critical role in shaping our HR policies and processes.


Job Title: HR Specialist

Location: Fairfax, VA (1 day in office, 4 days remote)

Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain the employee handbook and company policies.
  • Manage payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate salary disbursements.
  • Perform administrative duties, including record-keeping and data entry.
  • Maintain and manage employee data, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Provide HR support to employees, addressing inquiries and facilitating communication.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to align HR and administrative efforts.
  • Participate in special projects and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ambitious and eager to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Previous HR or administrative experience is a plus but not required.
