Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a $350 million government contractor technology firm seeking a talented Interim Government Contract Controller to join their team on a 6+ month contract basis. Title: Interim Controller Location: Tysons, VA (Hybrid - 1 day in-office per week, more during first weeks for training and transtion) Hourly Rate: $90.00 - $110.00/hour Job Type: Contract (6+ months)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a finance team of 14-15, including the Assistant Controller, GL accountants, billers, payroll accountants, and accounts payable/cash receipts accountants.
Oversee financial operations, ensuring alignment with government contracting standards and practices.
Review and provide advice regarding current Costpoint setup, indirect rate structure, and other financial processes.
Collaborate closely with the CFO to identify and implement process improvements.
Assist with final separation efforts regarding recent divestiture of part of the company.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Controller.
Solid government contracting background in a govcon companies larger than $250M in revenue required.
Proficiency in Costpoint is required.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills to effectively guide and develop team members.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple contract types, including fixed price and T&M.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
