Fantastic opportunity for a Senior Payroll Manager to partner with a well-established, 30-year old, solutions company on a flexible hybrid basis!

Title: Senior Payroll Manager
Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000
Location: Hybrid - Alexandria, VA
Job Type: Direct Hire

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Payroll
  • Proactively interacts with operational leadership to implement process changes to the newly centralized driver payroll process
  • Creates and defines standards across the driver payroll team
  • Creates and defines key metrics for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Creates and defines auditing functionality for driver payroll
Payroll Compliance
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, immigration changes, leave changes and changes to pay rates
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Prepares and understands multi-location payroll and taxes
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Performs other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 successful years of payroll experience preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years using Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Paylocity software preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of Federal & State payroll tax laws
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Strong professional-level presentation skills (written, oral, visual media) with a proven ability to communicate effectively to peers and client groups in group and one-on-one settings
  • Capacity to learn new technology and suggest ideas to help streamline the current payroll process.
