Company Overview:
Our client is a rapidly growing $40M Public Relations/Professional Services firm that supports corporate clients and associations in a variety of ways – communications/press releases, media outreach, social media and events management, grass roots campaign work, website and digital media coverage. The company has a total staff of 70 (doubled in size between 2020-2021), located in their Washington, DC HQ. The working environment is flexible and on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office).

Role Overview:
The company is seeking a Senior Accountant, due to company growth, who will report to the CFO and work alongside a Director of Accounting & Finance. The role will start out mainly focused in the AP area building out the process and procedures (30 clients per month), as well as handle credit card reconciliations, ME close duties, and bringing company from cash to accrual basis of accounting (target EOY). This person must have a problem solver mindset, be able to manage up, work with ambiguity and balance various duties, and team up cross functionally. Notably, this person will be the lead on process/systems updates and implementations to automate areas and build efficiencies.
Salary range of $75-90k, plus potential for discretionary bonus

  • Running daily accounting/finance matters for the company – AR/AP, various reconciliations, tax matters, supporting payroll, and more
  • Drive projects and initiatives, while implementing best practices
  • Ability to build and grow team and department as company scales
  • Support CFO with ad hoc duties as necessary

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related business discipline
  • 5+ years of overall experience in finance and accounting
  • 2-3 years of experience reconciling credit cards specifically
  • Advanced workpaper development and preparation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness and excitement about thinking creatively and entrepreneurially to solve problems and improve processes
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Tallie, preferred
