An outsourced accounting practice located in Vienna, VA is seeking a Senior Accountant with nonprofit experience to join their team. This is a fast paced and dynamic role. The ideal candidate must be comfortable and willing to work with multiple clients (doing operational accounting for them). You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of all corporate accounting functions, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

 ** This role can be remote but there will be times when coming into the Vienna, VA office will be needed. This will not be a weekly or monthly occurrence but with notice you should be able and comfortable appearing in the Vienna, VA office if needed.


Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
•          Assisting with monthly close processes
•          Account reconciliations and follow through to resolve reconciled items
•          Documentation of accounting processes and control reviews
•          Preparation of monthly revenue recognition schedules
•          Analysis of AR, sending monthly statements
•          Supporting AP and Payroll
•          Analysis of accounting data and financial report preparation

Senior Accountant Requirements:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles
• Nonprofit industry experience 2+ years 
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
• CPA Preferred
• A solid understanding of MS office – intermediate Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
