Business Intelligence Report Developer

Our client is looking for smart, creative individuals interested in helping grow something truly unique in our markets. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and managing custom reports, specifically creating reports in Microsoft Power BI. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to analyze and apply critical thinking to a wide variety of complex problems and be able to work with customers to identify and implement successful solutions that solve their most pressing challenges. As a  specialist, you will be responsible for providing quality services to our clients, expanding work under existing contracts when needs arise, and mentoring and developing junior staff.
 
We are currently looking for a Senior Specialist who will:
  • Work with the client to develop, update, and maintain custom reports for management and staff working in the areas of acquisition, contract, and financial management
  • Serve as an active member in an Agile development environment, helping to analyze and accommodate for frequently changing product requirements
  • Gather and document requirements to develop and customize reports and other application features when applicable
  • Determine appropriate data elements and data fields in systems associated with reporting and related requirements
  • Create new and existing reports in Power BI as well as other reporting platforms if sufficient experience is available
Additionally, the ideal candidate can:
  • Develop and deliver communications, briefings, and guidance materials to ensure understanding of reports
  • Provide technical support, as needed
  • Write and execute test cases on applications and thoroughly report any errors 
  • Provide quality assurance support and user acceptance testing
     
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, software engineering, information systems, computer engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in policy/data analysis and report development
  • Ability to work independently and to be a self-starter and able to operate in a proactive way
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; a logical thinker and intellectual curiosity
Expert knowledge of the following tools:
  • Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Microsoft SQL Server BI Development Studio
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Jira Suite
Skilled/knowledgeable in the following:
  • Full Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Requirements Gathering and Solicitation
  • Testing
  • Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
  • Data Modeling
  • Financial Reporting
