Cordia Resources, in collaboration with a growing pharmaceutical research group, is seeking two Senior Financial Analysts to support internal supply chain, manufacturing, and R&D teams. The Analysts will directly support the corporate FP&A and accounting functions in roles that will provide opportunities for collaboration and visibility across a well-respected brand. The ideal candidate will have a background in a publicly-traded R&D, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or a supply chain organization, and the desire to take ownership of their careers in a new position. Responsibilities:
  • Support all aspects of the budget cycle. Meet with budget owners and department heads, as appropriate, to develop annual and quarterly budgets, diagnose areas of variance, and assist with any needed corrections
  • Lead monthly meetings with department leads  to review vendor verifications, project spend, and accrual data for assigned teams
  • Support general ledger accounting duties including preparing/posting journal entries, updating accrual workbooks, and assisting with month and quarter-end close
  • Inventory accounting and analysis to include inventory reconciliations, standard costing, financial account coding, purchase requisitions/purchase orders, and finance related questions
  • Keep vendors, department heads, and peers informed as needed to process all invoices and ensure financial data is updated in all systems
  • Support, research, and understand the recording of monthly production and inventory transactions
  • Maintain compliance with SOX requirements, US GAAP, and Company policies
  • Run monthly financial reports and other ad hoc report requests, verifying accuracy and consistency of reports before releasing
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business discipline (Finance, Economics, Accounting) required. CPA, MBA or Masters preferred
  • 3-5+ years well-rounded experience in corporate finance / FP&A, to include preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, business cases, financial/data analyses and financial statements analysis
  • Experience with SOX 404 required
  • The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of general ledger accounting concepts, with a background in a publicly-traded pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or supply chain organization
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;  basic proficiency with PowerPoint graphs and formatting
  • Ability to develop, evaluate and communicate reasonable explanations for budget vs. actual variances
  • Professional communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines, with attention to detail and the ability to reprioritize as needed
