Opportunity Summary:
Our exciting, fast-growth client is a medical equipment manufacturer, designing and manufacturing analytical instruments for the medical and pharmaceutical industries along with providing hardware and software solutions for medical testing.
We are exclusively partnered with this client to identify an experienced, driven, independent, hands-on Controller to own the entire Accounting and Financial process. This role is in office 4-5 days a week in Charlottesville HQ.
  • Accounting responsibilities and oversight, including but not limited to general ledger journal entries, accounts reconciliation, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and day to day record keeping.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and forecasts.
  • Perform gross margin and expense analyses.
  • Work with external firms and assist with financial and tax audits.
  • Work with purchasing department and responsible for vendor & inventory management.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of paper and electronic documents.
  • Manage the time tracking system for internal staff.
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 7+ years of corporate accounting experience.
  • CPA highly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of GAAP accounting and procedures.
  • Manufacturing and cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of project accounting preferred.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other ERP accounting software.
  • Diverse communication skills including the ability to interface with a wide variety of people including management, employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Proven self-starter, good interpersonal and time management skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Systems implementation experience preferred.
