Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to become part of Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes.
 
Location: This is a rotating hybrid position in Beltsville, MD. One week: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote. Next week: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Salary: $132K
 

Responsibilities:
  • Install, replace, configure, and optimize network routers, switches, taps, and firewalls.
  • Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.
  • Diagnose network connectivity problem.
  • Document and implement new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
  • Create, edit, and manage network access controls for CTS hosted systems.
  • Document and maintain physical and logical network connectivity diagrams for CTS hosted systems.
  • Monitor network capacity and performance.
  • Provide feedback on network requirements, including network architecture and infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years’ experience; 7 years' experience required with a Masters; 4 years' experience required with a PhD.
  • Must be able to work a rotating hybrid schedule in Beltsville, MD.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.  An active Top-Secret clearance is preferred.
  • Possess one of the following certifications:
    • CASP+ CE
    • CCNA Cyber Ops
    • CCNA-Security
    • CCNP Security
    • CEH
    • CFR
    • CISA
    • CISSP (or Associate)
    • Cloud+
    • CySA+
    • GCED
    • GCIA
    • GCIH
    • GICSP
    • SCYBER
  • Demonstrated expertise in Cisco devices, including but not limited to Catalyst 9200, 9300, 9500, Nexus 9ks, and Firepower devices, is paramount, as we primarily operate within the Cisco ecosystem.
  • Knowledge and experience with the following network and management tools (Cisco ISE, Cisco DCNM, Cisco Prime and Cisco FMC).
  • Experience with technologies such as STP, LACP, SVI and VPC.
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Site to Site VPN solutions.
  • Plan and implement switch, firewall and network management tools upgrades.
  • Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting layer 1, 2 and 3 issues on the network.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues before they affect the organization. 
  • Has sufficient background to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Skilled at performing analysis at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Experience ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Proficient with performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Experience supporting the installation, configuration, testing, operation, maintenance, optimization, and management of CTS hosted networks, network devices, network regeneration systems, and network firewalls, including hardware (e.g., switches, routers, cables, proxy servers, network taps, etc...) and software.
