Job Description – Manager
A Manager, or as we often call them, Engagement Managers, are basically controllers for multiple clients.  On most engagements there is a Staff, Senior or Supervising Senior and the Manager (unless the job is so large that it requires more staff).  The Engagement Manager “shares” these people with other engagement managers on their clients.  The Manager ensures that the  normal day-to-day is handled, mostly AP and Cash, that we remain on schedule for billings and close, and they review the reconciliations and close the books for reporting.  The days differ given the client and the time of the month so there is no “typical” day.  Additionally, clients have questions and other requests for data that they work on. Overall, a Manager is likely to have 1 – 2 direct people they are responsible for (the card carrying manager that does the reviews).  Again, they are responsible for the engagements and so could be touching a lot of people in a given day. They are the face of the organization with the client and are responsible for handling all inquiries an ensuring all contracted work, plus additional tasks, are completed timely and correctly.

The ideal candidate will provide leadership and oversight to a team responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of all corporate accounting functions, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
