Salary: $85-90K

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations, assisting with monthly close processes, and ensuring revenue and expenditures are properly identified, recorded, or accrued. The Senior Accountant will also manage accounts payables, posting invoices to the system for payment, and resolving vendor inquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes, ensuring revenue and expenditures are properly identified, recorded, or accrued.
  • Analyze/reconcile ledger accounts, including research, documentation, and preparation of adjusting entries.
  • Manage accounts payables, posting invoices to the system for payment, and resolving vendor inquiries.
  • Manage Bill of Materials set up in QuickBooks for all items produced and complete variance analysis for changes during the year.
  • Proactively manage receivables by initiating discussions with the sales team and customers to ensure timely payment is received. Research discrepancies and over/short payments.
  • Prepare daily cash reports identifying reserved and available funds.
  • Prepare periodic payroll, sales, and state tax filings.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Other projects/tasks, as requested by direct manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably in cannabis, manufacturing, agricultural, or related field
  • Experience working in startup environments, including demonstrated ability to work in the absence of large company resources, processes, and structure
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency using spreadsheets and various accounting platforms
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter
  • Strong communication skills to partner with operations team providing them with an excellent internal customer service experience
  • Ability to enter, manipulate and synthesize large amounts of data.
