Title: Interim Controller
Location: Hybrid – Garden City, NY (2 days onsite – typically Tues and Thurs)
Hourly Rate: Market
Job Type: Contract
As the Interim Controller, you will play a crucial role filling in for the Controller while she is on maternity leave. You will be managing the general ledger team, managing the month-end close process, and providing guidance to the team as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to provide crucial support during a critical time with an audit and yearend close approaching. This is a multi-entity environment with 15 entities and multiple layers of consolidation. The company currently uses Sage 300 and is in the process of converting to Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities:
- Lead general ledger team during month end close, including managing the close calendar, ensuring deliverables on time to stay on schedule and team members have the information they need.
- Liaison between general ledger team, accounts payable team, and other departments as needed.
- Monthly review of consolidated P&L, and individual balance sheets for 15 entities.
- Provide month-end analysis to Chief Accounting Officer.
- Ensure adherence GAAP compliance and provide guidance to general ledger team and others as needed.
- Lead audit preparation activities, including preparation and review of requested schedules.
- Liaison with external auditors and manage the engagement to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data and insights.
- Support the activities for Sage Impact implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar finance leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Healthcare experience in a management services environment required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill across multiple disciplines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Sage Intacct implementation experience would be helpful.
