Senior Accountant (Law Firm Experience) 16527420

One of our best clients, a DC based Law Firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant with Law Firm or Professional Services experience. This is a full-time role with three (3) days in their Washington, DC office. Compensation is in the range of $100,000 to $130,000, based on experience.

Days in Office: Hybrid role -Tuesday Through Thursday in office -Mon and Fri work from home

Ideal candidate must have Law Firm or Professional Service experience. Experience with billable hours.

  6. Senior Accountant -pays $100K-$130K + discretionary bonus.  MUST be from Law firm or very strong professional services background, and still preference to have some law firm experience…billable hours etc.
  7. Department is CFO, Director of Accounting, Vacant Senior, Vacant FA, Billing Specialist, 2 coordinator, accounting staff, and interim accountant.
  8. Two (2) step interview process.
  
Job Functions
  1. Maintain the General Ledger on a modified cash basis of accounting and accrual, ensures its accuracy through reconciliations, review, and analysis.
  2. Reconcile bank accounts, reconcile daily cash transactions, and prepare reports on cash position.
  3. Perform monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations, including equity partners’ capital accounts, and their compensation records.
  4. Perform month-end closing and balancing of the General Ledger to the billing and payables sub-ledgers. Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
  5. Perform year-end closing and reconcile book to tax profit.
  6. Record payroll journals and maintain payroll system General Ledger mapping.
  7. Initiate banking transactions (such as wires and ACHs) and route them for approval.
  8. Maintain various accounting schedules as needed.
  9. Prepare periodic financial statements.
  10. Coordinate the exchange of financial information with accounting firm.
  11. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  2. Five years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or financial analyst.
  3. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate preferred.
  4. Law firm or professional services experience required.
  5. Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures and the ability to train others in related practices and procedures.
  6. Ability to work independently and report on work progress to necessary stakeholders.
  7. Excellent organization and prioritization skills and fluency in the various Microsoft Office, Google Suite and similar software.
  8. Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
