Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Hybrid - Tysons Corner, VA
Hourly Rate: $50.00 - $75.00/hour
Job Type: Contract / Contract to Hire

Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and management to analyze financial data, provide insights, and support decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, collections, and payment reconciliation.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including general ledger maintenance and journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and audits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement financial controls and process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  • Stay up to date with accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
