Cordia Resources is currently seeking a dedicated Benefits Accountant.
Responsibilities:
- Support pension and benefits general ledger accounting activities.
- Actively participate in the monthly and annual closing processes.
- Assist in the quarterly reporting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Play a key role in the SOX Program compliance efforts.
- Analyze financial transactions related to pension and benefits, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts related to pension and benefits, addressing any variances promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and support financial reporting requirements.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Benefits Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of pension and benefits accounting principles.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
