Title: Senior Accountant
Compensation: 90K – 105K
Environment: Hybrid 2 days per week in office DC

Our client, a national software development organization, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic Accounting and Finance team. As a part of this team, you will be responsible for month end close procedures, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable & accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, cash management and ensuring compliance with GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards. This is a great opportunity for candidates that are motivated individual contributors, interested in applying their skills to evolving business processes, and who possess the desire to work with a talented FP&A team. 


Job Responsibilities:
  • Operational Areas of focus include cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany loans.
  • Support general accounting functions including the preparation of journal entries and account analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly & quarterly financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with SOX compliance.
  • Support projects and contracts entry
  • Cross-train in other accounting functions and assist in the review of procedure documentation.
  • Support external and internal audit.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Manage multiple priorities/projects effectively.
  • Identify and support implementation of process improvements.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments and levels of management including offsite locations.
 
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • CPA or active candidate
  • Combination of corporate and/or public accounting experience
  • Experience with Accounting Systems
  • 2+ years of experience in general accounting functions
  • Knowledge SOX and/or internal controls testing and documentation.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Ability to meet strict closing and reporting deadlines consistent with a publicly traded company
