Overview:
A fast-growing real estate investment and development firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its expanding portfolio of multifamily and mixed-use assets. This role offers exposure across all facets of the business, including development, joint ventures, and operating properties. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to system innovation and process improvement.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure books and records are accurate and compliant with US GAAP or other applicable standards
  • Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis
  • Manage general ledger operations and accounting software systems
  • Maintain and enhance accounting systems, including report creation and entity setup
  • Oversee AP/AR processes, cash disbursements, and receipts
  • Support ERP upgrades and other system implementations
  • Evaluate and streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency
  • Review monthly property-level financials and provide feedback to third-party accountants and asset managers
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers for annual audits and filings
  • Prepare miscellaneous tax filings (e.g., BPOL, personal property, I&E)
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly draw processes and job cost reconciliations
  • Support compliance and reporting requirements
  • Prepare and issue distributions and internal cash transfers
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3–5 years of relevant real estate accounting experience; tax experience a plus
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting systems and AP processes
  • Experience with Sage 300 or Sage Intacct is a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative
