About the Opportunity
A rapidly growing technology company is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to lead its accounting policy and complex transaction support functions. This role is ideal for a CPA with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting, especially those coming from Big 4 or top 10 public accounting firms.

The Director will serve as a subject matter expert on accounting standards, lead the evaluation of new transactions, and support cross-functional teams on accounting implications. This is a high-impact role with visibility across finance, legal, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical accounting research and documentation for complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, equity, leases, acquisitions)
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Support SEC reporting and disclosure requirements
  • Partner with legal, finance, and operations teams to assess accounting implications of contracts and strategic initiatives
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and assess impact on the company
  • Assist with audit coordination and internal control enhancements
  • Provide training and guidance to accounting and finance teams

Qualifications
  • CPA required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of experience in technical accounting, ideally with public company exposure
  • Big 4 or top 10 public accounting firm experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
