Interim Controller – Government Contracting
Location: Fairfax, VA (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite)
Contract Length: 3+ Months (Immediate Start)
A high-tech, mission-driven nonprofit government contractor is seeking an experienced
Interim Controller to support its finance team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Ensure revenue recognition aligns with GAAP and government contracting standards.
- Provide oversight and guidance on general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate interim and annual audit activities.
Qualifications:
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Extensive background in government contracting required, and nonprofit experience a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint 8.2 (required).
- Proven ability to manage full-cycle close and lead accounting teams.
- Strong technical accounting skills and GAAP compliance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- US Citizenship is required.
