Senior Accountant

Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in the financial health and scalability of the organization. This position is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial planning and operational processes. As a key member of a lean finance team in a fast-paced environment, the Senior Accountant will manage core accounting functions and contribute to strategic initiatives, system improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to drive business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements, business reports, financial forecasts, and ad hoc analyses to assess business performance
  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare accounting policy memoranda and analyses to support GAAP accounting
  • Manage accounting systems (QuickBooks) and entries, and help evaluate new systems and improvements for scalability
  • Evaluate and implement financial reporting tools to support business management
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, billing, collections, accounts payable, and process improvements throughout the order-to-cash cycle
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual operating plan and prepare budget-to-actual reporting for management and the Board
  • Support audit and review processes with outside auditors, and manage the tax preparation process with external tax accountants
  • Ensure compliance with business license and tax requirements across relevant jurisdictions
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and internal controls to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Support financing activities, including due diligence, data room preparation, and investor reporting

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA, CMA, or CGMA certification preferred
  • Previous experience in public accounting highly valued
  • Experience in early-stage corporate settings highly valued
  • Experience with Maxio highly valued
  • Working understanding of GAAP
  • 4+ years of relevant business experience
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and MS Office preferred
  • Strong teamwork, integrity, honesty, customer-service orientation, and communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail, organizational, planning, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and calculation software
