Summary
The Senior IT Project Manager is a strategic leader within the IT PMO, responsible for driving complex technology projects and establishing gold-standard delivery practices. This role ensures excellence in project execution, demand management, resource planning, and reporting, while fostering trusted partnerships across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables aligned with business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring accountability and timely delivery.
- Communicate complex information effectively to influence senior leadership.
- Proactively identify and solve problems, develop recommendations, and adapt project approaches.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder alignment across IT and business units.
- Conduct postmortems and implement lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Champion PMO standards and mentor junior team members.
- Uphold confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive data.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance).
- PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP certifications preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years in IT project management, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Proven success in end-to-end project execution, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management.
- Experience with vendor negotiation and contract management.
Technical Knowledge
- IT systems architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development.
- Familiarity with legal cloud solutions and hybrid IT environments.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Expertise in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, and hybrid frameworks.
