Job Title: Associate Engineer
Location: Anaheim, CA (On-site/Field)
Compensation: $31/hour
Schedule: Full-time, typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (may fluctuate); occasional weekend or after-hours coverage as needed
Overview
An organization in the Anaheim area is seeking an Associate Engineer to join their team. This role provides both on-site and remote technical support across multiple client environments, ensuring the smooth operation of network systems, workstations, and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, communicates effectively with remote clients, and thrives in a hands-on, problem-solving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to client users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with workstations (PCs, laptops, monitors).
- Configure and maintain firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, and network switches.
- Support server and cable management activities.
- Communicate and escalate complex issues to the internal IT team when necessary.
- Manage ticketing requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for issues, resolutions, and configurations.
- Ensure system security and proper authentication protocols are followed.
- Represent the team professionally during client visits.
Requirements
Experience:
- 1+ year of IT support experience (preferably in an MSP environment).
Education/Certifications:
- CompTIA Network+ and A+ certifications required (or equivalent experience).
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent certification preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Networking fundamentals (switches, firewalls, VPNs).
- Knowledge of authentication protocols and remote connectivity tools.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and enterprise support platforms.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service mindset with a “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple requests effectively.
Additional Information
- Work Model: Primarily on-site in the Anaheim area, with occasional remote work and travel to client sites (reimbursed mileage).
- Dress Code: Business casual—slacks and button-up shirts (no graphic tees). Jeans and polos permitted for on-site client work.
- Language: Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Hours: Standard business hours with potential for after-hours or emergency coverage (24/7 rotation, approximately twice per quarter).
