Summary:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and will ensure all payroll records are maintained in accordance with company policies. You will collaborate closely with HR to manage employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes, ensuring that all payroll documentation is accurate and current. Your role will involve utilizing payroll software to manage complex calculations and reporting, so proficiency in payroll systems is crucial. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and implement payroll procedures while contributing to a team-oriented culture that values accuracy and collaboration. Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll for a diverse workforce on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for all employees, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
  • Calculate and process payroll adjustments when necessary, including bonuses, overtime, and retroactive pay.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, including deductions, taxes, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data and onboarding information is entered into the payroll system.
  • Generate and submit payroll reports to management and external agencies as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of related payroll processing and administration experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience handling certified payroll and union benefits reporting.
  • Proficiency in industry standard payroll software and proficient Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to address employee inquiries.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
