Human Resources Manager

Cordia Resources is supporting a client of ours in a search for a Human Resources Manager - the role is remote indefinitely, but the office is located in downtown Washington, DC.

We are looking to add a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team to lead our human resources, benefits, and compliance capabilities for the company. This person will manage a small team, coordinate with leadership across functions, and coordinate with technical providers such as our benefits broker and IT provider to support our employees. The ideal candidate has 7-10 years of experience managing and implementing the HR functions of recruiting, hiring, compensation analysis, benefits administration, compliance, office management, and offboarding and is interested in building a growing team.

Primary responsibilities include:

Compliance
  • Ensure company compliance with HR guidelines and policies
  • Identify and create, as needed, HR policies and processes to ensure consistency and compliance as we scale
  • Maintain and institutionalize key employee-focused documentation such as the Employee Handbook and other policy and process documentation
  • Provide support to develop and provide compliance and process training in collaboration with the Director of Delivery Excellence and others
  • Coordinate and manage the HR-legal consultant relationship
Systems
  • Manage, maintain, evaluate the effectiveness, and upgrade HR systems
  • Oversee company-wide access to HR systems
  • Ensure employee data in the HR system(s) are current and accurate
Employees
  • Ensure our compensation model is in line with market data
  • Support recruiting and Director of Consulting with salary negotiations, as needed
  • Oversee the HR aspects of hiring and employee on-boarding; provide corporate on-boarding during orientation such as the introduction to the Employee Handbook and Benefits
  • Manage the off-boarding process
  • Oversee employee morale initiatives
  • Provide a key point of escalation for HR related issues experienced by our employees
Benefits
  • Manage the company benefits program administration
  • Manage relationship with our benefits broker including the seamless execution of renewal and updates to company-wide benefits
  • Assess the Corner Alliance benefits package, identify new and competitive benefit options and make recommendations for package enhancements
  • Coordinate and field questions and benefits inquiries between employees and our benefits broker
  • Coordinate with Finance for payroll adjustments relating to benefit changes
Office Management
  • Oversee management of the headquarters office and implement upgrades to the office space
  • Manage the relationships with building, IT and office management vendors
  • Maintain the headquarters emergency management and environmental management programs
Required Experience:
  • 7-10 years of progressive management within HR, 3 years of leading critical HR functions for an organization in a professional services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation and enhancement of core HR processes (such as recruiting, hiring, compensation analysis, benefits administration, compliance, office management, and offboarding) for a growing government consulting firm
  • Ability to advise colleagues on all matters related to HR with a demonstrated understanding of key mitigations for HR related issues from employees Ability to manage multiple ongoing processes with alignment to corporate vision while coordinating the details
  • Ability to lead a small team and collaborate across functions of the company
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the business
  • Proven ability to scale the company with HR systems and initiatives to support growth
