Accounts Payable Manager

This individual will supervise staff, ensure timely vendor payments, maintain accurate records, and control reports. Accounts Payable Manager Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate Accounts Payable staff
  • Ensure timely and accurate coding of all invoices to appropriate accounts (G/L, Job Cost sub-ledgers) Enters/adjusts invoices as needed
  • Conduct quality reviews for accuracy of invoice processing and provide feedback to team; track open items to ensure processing deadlines are met
  • Ensure lien releases are properly executed, and that Certificates of Insurance are valid and in place prior to releasing payments
  • Prepare Sales and Use tax account reconciliations and submit online filings
  • Responsible for 1099 process
  • Perform month-end A/P accrual procedures
  • Reconcile vendor statements and Purchase Orders; interact with vendors and operations team to address any discrepancies in the process
 
Accounts Payable Manager Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, specifically Accounts Payable
  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related area (strongly preferred). Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • 2+ years of Construction Industry accounting experience
  • Experience using Construction Accounting Software
  • Multi-entity, multi-state experience; sales and use tax filing experience preferred
  • Functional knowledge of MS-Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • 2+ years of prior management experience required; must be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate, train and coach a team to generate highly accurate results in a time-sensitive business environment
  • Able to work under pressure and reprioritize work according to changing demands and deadlines
