Accounting Manager of General Ledger 14634248

Our client a growing, global tech/communications firm in Arlington, VA, is expanding its finance group and is actively seeking an Accounting Manager of General Ledger. There are three major focus for this role: Areas of focus include cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany loans. Secondly, support team with general accounting functions including the preparation of journal entries and account analyses. Third, assist team in the preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.

The Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Controller and will have contact with Controller and VP of Finance which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Salary: $110,000 -$130,000

Education and/or Experience:
  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • 10+ years of experience working within the general ledger area and at least (5 years of prior supervisory experience). The experience must show growth within the accounting functional area thru various roles.
  • Experience working in a fast pace/high growth environment where they have shown an ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects


Responsibilities:
  • Critically review and analyze General Ledger data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP
  • Serve as a lead in the financial statement close process
  • Prepares, review, and approves balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Support system requirements and maintenance of Chart of Accounts
  • Prepare and review variance analysis for accounts and reporting as needed for management
  • Provide supervision and guidance over a team of accountants
  • Manage daily accounting activities including but not limited to areas of cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, lease accounting, compensation related accruals, intercompany transactions and consolidations
  • Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve operations and productivity
