Project Manager - ERP Implementation

Our client one of the most influential, most quoted and most trusted think tanks will be undergoing a full Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform implementation with a target completion date of early 2023. The platform, Workday, will include both Finance and Human Resource functions.

The Workday Project Manager will be directly responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations associated with the Finance related tasks of the ERP project, including but not limited to readiness, planning, designing, testing, training, deploying, and change management activities for Workday Financials, Payroll, and Adaptive Insights.
 

Finance ERP Implementation Project Management (60%)

  • Work with the ERP PM team and Finance Lead to develop the project plan, including procedures for managing Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions (RAID) throughout the project.
  • Support Finance Lead in effectively communicating project expectations to internal and external project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Actively manage key stakeholders and project commitments, escalations, and communication.
  • Provide logistical and team communication.
  • Maintain an open, transparent, and supportive communication and partnership environment within all work streams and among all stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and escalate quickly where appropriate.
  • Track project timelines and milestones.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, and redesign business processes.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential roadblocks, and devise contingency plans.
  • Attend, facilitate, and/or conduct regular project meetings with appropriate resources.
  • Identify and manage all risks to Finance project deliverables.
  • Provide support to Finance team during user acceptance testing, integration testing, and Quality Assurance (QA) phases of the project.
  • Ensure any sign-offs required for the project (e.g. stage and/or milestone sign-offs, design sign-offs, Change Order sign-offs etc.) are obtained in a timely manner.

Finance ERP Change Management (25%)

  • Work with the ERP PM and Change Management Teams and support Finance Lead to develop and execute against the change management and communications plans, including training and participating in the Change Network.
  • Regularly provide information to internal stakeholders on project status.
  • Facilitate and enable effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Celebrate, either formally or informally, the accomplishment of goals.
  • Provide post implementation support to optimize user adoption and Workday configuration.

 ERP Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Budget Management (15%)

  • Manage and regularly report on the project spending against the planned project budget.
  • Support Finance Lead and CIO with developing reporting for executive leadership and board meetings.
  • Review invoices and ensure proper coding for payment.
