Accounting Manager ($120-130k + bonus)

Overview:
Our client is an Arlington, VA-based $100M Government Contractor with operations across the US and overseas.  The company is private equity backed and are currently on track for $300M in revenue within the next three years with an acquisition focused business plan.
The company is currently looking for an entrepreneurial, driven Accounting Manager who can roll up their sleeves, partner with management and bring in new thoughts and best practices as the company scales. The ideal candidate has experience within PE backed/multi-entity organizations, hands-on accounting experience, deep Costpoint software experience, and top-notch communication skills. The position reports to the VP of Accounting.
The company is remote currently, and this role will ultimately be hybrid in the future.
Salary target is $120,000-130,000 plus bonus and the company policy required COVID vaccination.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing financial analyses and reports
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Assisting CPA firm with federal, state, local, and special tax returns
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting package
  • Assist with or review cash application and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable general ledger reconciliations
  • Participates in various aspects of monthly close process including timely journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation preparation
  • Prepare and maintain depreciation, amortization, capital lease and other accounting schedules
  • Assist with Merger and Acquisition due diligence and integration activities
  • Work with confidential data in a professional manner to maintain the integrity of the data and processes

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 5-7+ years of Government Contractor experience
  • Deltek Costpoint software knowledge
  • Experience with FAR, CAS, DCAA, indirect rates, job cost, billing, and contract closeout
  • Strong Excel skills, proficiency with complex models and financial analytics
  • CPA is preferred
