Our client is a $200m, private equity backed gov-con in Northern VA and they are looking to add a Staff Accountant with Costpoint experience to their growing Accounting team. This position reports to a great Manager and will pay up to $65k. This position is currently offering a flexible hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for efficient and timely processing of semi-monthly subcontractor timesheets. Working with the Project Manager, Program Control, subcontractor employees and authorized approvers to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
  • Set up and maintenance of PO’s and Work Assignments in Costpoint. Ensuring that the accounting system ties to all pertinent source documents. (Subcontractor agreements, modifications, ect.)
  • Support month end closing procedures. Reviewing and posting AP vouchers as needed, processing journal entries and completing reconciliations
  • Act as a backup for cash applications, researching discrepancies and miscellaneous payments to ensure proper allocation of cash.
  • Reconciliation and review of Credit Card accounts.
  • Assist in adhoc projects involving reconciliations, analysis and research as needed.
  • Provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers. Taking initiative to resolve issues, provide feedback and follow up on lingering inquires in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 3-5 years with some combination of AP/AR or GL experience, preferably with a minimum of 3 years of experience for Government Contractors.
  • Understanding of the full accounts payable process, including – invoice processing, expense report processing, vendor file management (hard copy & electronic), subcontractor payables, ect.
  • Firm grasp on Government Contracting, specifically knowledge of direct v. indirect costs
  • Ability to perform general analysis, research and reconciliations of labor and payables.
  • Needs knowledge of and experience with the Purchasing and Accounts Payable modules in Deltek CostPoint. (Some knowledge of the Contracts, Projects and Subcontractor Module would be preferred).
  • Must have strong computer skills with an understanding of Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Excel.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • The status of applicable COVID-19 vaccination requirements under Executive Order 14042 are subject to change depending on applicable court orders and the course of ongoing litigation. Candidates may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills using Deltek Accounting system.  Experience with CostPoint a plus.
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated accounting system
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
