Payroll Specialist $65-70k based on experience, hybrid role, Vienna VA Direct Hire Our client, a faith-based non-profit is adding a Payroll Specialist to their team. In this highly visible and vital position, you will oversee and supervise the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for:
Preparation and processing of semimonthly payroll for over 150 employees using ADP
Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
Coordinate efforts between payroll, Human Resources, budget and other departments to ensure the proper flow and maintenance of employee data
Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system
Prepare semi-monthly payroll journal entries and enter into the accounting software (Concur)
Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax forms are filed in a timely manner
Assist with balancing and reconciliation of all payroll-related general ledger postings
Payroll Specialist qualifications:
3-5years of dedicated payroll experience, preferably using ADP
Ability to create and understand journal entries
Highly proficient in Excel
Knowledge of Nonprofit accounting is preferable but not required.
