Multi-faceted Growing Government Contractor
Controller ($180-200k salary + bonus)
Arlington, VA – Hybrid (2 days in office)

Company Overview:
Our client is a $100M Government Contractor with international operations and offices around the world focused on security, aircraft logistics, and more. The company is privately owned (excellent leadership), has a strong contract base (government and commercial), 200+ employees (7-8 in accounting/finance), Deltek Costpoint software, and is in the process of a company culture revitalization. The company operates on a flexible, hybrid schedule with the Accounting team spending 2 days in their Arlington, VA HQ office.  


Role Overview:
They are seeking a rock star Controller to bring in fresh ideas for efficiencies and process optimization, who knows Costpoint inside and out, and has experience working hands on in a leadership role within the Government Contracting field. Ideally, the right candidate will be a champion of leading change and efficiency, a creative problem solver, Excel expert, and open to mentorship and growth from the CFO. Target profile elements include CPA, knowledge of federal regulations, Deltek Costpoint, and several years of experience in the Gov Con industry. This role will have a strong growth path with the company, as they scale, targeting almost double the number of employees. Must be US citizen.
Salary will be $180-200k + bonus
  
Role Responsibilities:
  • Perform cost controls standard procedures on multiple projects under multiple programs and customers
  • Produce, review, provide analysis of program and company financial reports
  • Lead efforts to develop Incurred Cost Submissions, Provisional Billing Rates, contract setup and close out support, etc.
  • Provide supervisory support to Operations and Leadership team members
  • Collaborate with Operations team on cost forecasting, change management and scenario planning
  • Support user community with Deltek Costpoint reports and data requests
  • Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual financial variances to actuals, forecast, budget, and prior year
  • Analyze projects cost/results for accuracy, allocability, allowability and trends
  • Review, code and make recommendations on project commitments for project coding, personnel, and purchase requisitions/purchase orders
  • Key point of contact with DCAA and DCMA information requests
     
Qualification:
  • Active CPA in Virginia (MBA is a plus)
  • At least 5 years of Controller experience for a US Government Contractor
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint (proficiency a plus)
  • 10+ years of US Government contracting experience supporting and analyzing FFP, T&M, and Cost-Plus contract types
  • Experience in accounting/finance for multi-entity organizations
