Role Summary The company is seeking a Corporate Controller due to the impressive company growth to run all accounting/finance areas and report directly to the CEO. This role will manage 3 direct reports and help oversee another 13 staff. Responsibility areas will also include risk management and treasury functions including accounting principles/practices, internal controls, consolidated financial reporting, banking relationships and all record keeping. Most exciting of all is that this role is poised for excellent personal growth and development into the company’s CFO. Compensation range $180-250k salary + bonus, with strong benefits.
Responsibilities
Assist President and Operations Leads in financial and general business issues and advice to keep company operating efficiently and effectively
Review monthly financials, budget to actual variance reporting, cash flow and executive reporting
Set up and develop annual operating budgets and forward projections with executive group
Oversee annual audit with CPA firm, generating required reporting, reconciliation, etc.
Oversee annual company reporting, licensing and registrations for states we do business in
Oversee commercial insurances/audits for company/ projects (general liability, WC, etc.)
Communicate goals and objectives effectively with accounting staff
Establish, implement and enforce accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
Account for job costs, analysis and profitability
Manage relations with banks and other financial institutions.
Develop cash flow and projection reports
Assist outside tax firm with equity and interest calculations, distributions, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field
CPA highly preferred
8 years progressive experience in construction (residential/commercial) accounting
Experience with technical accounting areas: consolidated financial reporting/audits, WIP accounting, change orders and purchasing
Knowledgeable in accounting system conversions including multi-company account structure setup, preferably in the Sage Intacct/300 environment
Ability to produce accurate monthly financials on a timely basis
A sense of urgency and mentality to get things done
