IT Manager

Our client a NonProfit in Tyson's Corner is looking for an IT Manager. In this role you would be responsible for providing a vision for our long-term systems needs to support operations and achieve business objectives.  Manages and operates multiple applications, systems, networks, and telecommunications activities. Manages information systems throughout the organization. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

IT & Technology Management – Manages the overall technology portfolio and landscape of the organization, including vendors, procurement, acting as the technical point of contact (POC), and leading training for staff and members. Manages IT and technology vendors, including infrastructure and cloud services providers. Manages all IT and technology-related procurements, including selecting all IT and technology vendors and purchases. Acts as the primary Point of Contact for all technology needs, including infrastructure-related ISO 20000, ISO 27001, and CMMC needs before, during, and after internal and external audits. Manages, maintains and leads internal IT and technology training, including training personnel in operating computers, mobile devices, and peripheral and off-line auxiliary equipment. Overseas the IT onboarding and offboarding of all staff.

IT Operations - Oversees the daily operations of the corporate information systems team and vendors, supporting our technology infrastructure, day-to-day customer support, and service. Performs minor repairs and recommends upgrades to hardware and equipment. Maintains custom single sign-on solution known as HELIX. Reviews and identifies when code-level changes and patches are required for HELIX and work with contracted developers throughout the code update, test, deployment, and release process.

IT & Technology Inventory - Compiles, updates, and maintains an inventory of all organization technologies (hardware, software, etc.) and ensures all staff are equipped with appropriate software licenses as needed.

IT Assessment – Evaluate the organization's technological and equipment needs to ensure the effective use of company resources. Creates and presents business cases for major organizational purchases and changes.

IT & Technology Strategy Planning – Leads and manages a collaborative process with  Senior Leaders and Managers to develop an open solutions-based architecture for the organization’s technology systems. This also includes the development of sub-architectures for external systems (i.e. single-sign-on) and internal systems (i.e., information & records management via SharePoint). Leads and manages the implementation of these architectures involving technology and system consolidation and integration. Oversees the development of short and long-term strategic technology plans that take advantage of new and existing technologies to produce a pragmatic and practical future roadmap enabling the organization to fulfill its overall mandate in the community. Set short-term objectives and long-term strategy for the Corporate IT function to support the execution of the overall company goals, as well as resource planning. Advise on technical strategy and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

IT Policies– Collaboratively develops, establishes, and implements technology policies, procedures, and standards that optimize efficiency, including policies and procedures on onboarding and offboarding staff.

Technology Innovation – Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies and cost-effectiveness and increase capabilities across the  organization and technology enterprise through innovative technology-based solutions. Leads and manages the implementation of technology-based solutions in partnership with the appropriate leaders, managers, and other staff. Stays current on the latest technology, IT, and cyber developments and continually assesses their application within the organization. Determine proposed projects' feasibility and potential value; make recommendations regarding priorities, cost/benefit analysis, systems planning, and resource utilization.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of related experience demonstrated increasing responsibilities within the career path or a combination of equivalent experience, training, and education.
  • Familiarity with management and maintenance of custom single-sign-on applications
  • Experience in systems engineering life cycle (SELC) process and practice
  • Experience managing corporate IT and commercial cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with IT strategic planning, developing, and implementing IT policies and procedures collaborative across an organization
  • VOIP knowledge and experience – required
  • Specific Software Knowledge
    • Multiple content management systems (CMS) - required
    • Office 365 security and administration experience – required
    • Microsoft SharePoint and custom workflow development - required
    • Salesforce experience - required
    • SaaS-based Collaboration Platforms such as HigherLogic – nice to have
    • SaaS-based Learning Management Systems such as Absorb – nice to have
    • Esri ArcGIS – nice to have
