Our client, a large privately held, prominent and growing retail property management, development and brokerage firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant. We have deep relationships there, know the management very well and know the company to be very well positioned. This role is a hybrid in office 3 days a week and 2 WFH – and they want to move very quickly. Salary will go up to $85,000 depending on experience.

Senior Property Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial packages for owners;
  • Analyze General Ledger activities for accuracy and determine if reclassification is needed
  • Work closely with Project Managers regarding monthly and quarterly deliverables and journal entries reclassification
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly lender compliance reports
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly complex upper tier distribution schedules and portfolio distribution schedules
  • Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheet workbooks for the assigned portfolios
  • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliation for each property in the assigned portfolio for weekly cash management reports and month-end close
  • Perform monthly management fees calculation in MRI and Yardi Accounting System as well as Excel Spreadsheet calculation
  • Prepare lender draw packages for submission in compliance with loan requirements
  • Prepare Accounting Assumptions for Insurance, Real Estate taxes, Accounting Fees, Escrows & Reserves and Loan Amortization schedule in annual budget process
  • Approve invoices in Nexus (AP Software) at least 3 times a week, submit invoices for payment and batch checks for payment in MRI Accounting Software
  • Work closely with AP staff to be sure invoices are paid timely
  • Handle special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Commercial real estate background is a plus, as well as experience working with MRI, Yardi and NEXUS
