Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Remote
Hourly Rate: $35.00 - $50.00/hour
Job Type: 3+ month contract

Senior Accountant Summary:
The Senior Accountant must have solid communication, technology, analytical, and management skills. Possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accounting operations. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Accounting Functions
  • Prepares accounting reports and financial statements and analysis
  • Review accounting reports for clerical accuracy
  • Generates schedules and provides supporting documents for external auditors
  • Calculates Sales Commissions and partner revenue sharing and records accrual entries
  • Calculates and reports and processes all sales commissions and bonuses
  • Prepares schedules and records month-end accruals
  • Manages month and year end closing processes including checklists
  • Quick Books maintenance – updates/changes
  • Post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Reviews the work of the accounts payable and receivable clerk
  • Reviews the results of the customer billing process
  • Reconciles bank statements and all other balance sheet accounts
  • Manage daily cash balances and processes bank transfers as needed
  • Administration of commercial credit cards
  • Reviews insurance premium payments and updates prepaid expenses schedules
  • Reviews and issues annual 1099 forms
  • Manage licensing needs (City and State)
  • Manages Corporate registrations, franchise taxes and annual reports
  • Other duties as requested
  • Minimum of 5 years experience performing all accounting functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks and other accounting systems
  • Strong skills in using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated accounting system
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
  • People-oriented and results-driven
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • BS/MS degree in Accounting or related field preferred
