SUMMARY An exciting opportunity to join a stable and growing public company! As the Accounting Manager, you will provide support to senior management and assume direct responsibility for the monthly closing of the books and all related closing activities. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all general ledger accounting, in addition to the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervise a team of 2 – 4 staff members, while providing coaching and development
Manage monthly closing in accordance to accelerated filer timetables; this includes coordination with subsidiary accounting functions to manage deadlines
Areas of responsibility include fixed assets, labor distribution, accrued expenses, allocations, intercompany transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation & review of quarterly account fluctuation, maintenance & management of SOX controls & documentation
Management of chart of accounts, coordinating changes with IT
Support internal and external audits, including preparation of PBCs
Manage accounting system functionality including coordinating issue resolution with IT, process improvement, maintaining documentation, and complete quarterly testing of upgrades
Assist with SOX compliance including updates of process documentation and controls
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
CPA license required
5+ years’ experience in accounting management, specifically in closing the books
Demonstrated knowledge of reporting requirements for a publicly traded company
Prior experience in system issue resolution is a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines effectively
